About Session
The restoration industry is facing a growing workforce challenge that threatens long-term sustainability and growth. As demand for restoration services continues to rise and a generation is looking to exit, attracting and retaining the next generation of talent has become an urgent priority.
This session challenges restoration leaders, contractors, educators, and industry partners to think collectively about how we recruit, inspire, and develop future professionals.
The reality is restoration contractors are competing for a labor pool that is in high demand. Other construction specialties are recruiting from the same labor pool and the industry must work together to build awareness of restoration careers among high school students, community colleges, trade schools, and universities.
Participants will explore how the concrete industry successfully addressed a similar workforce crisis more than 25 years ago through coordinated outreach, education partnerships, and unified industry messaging—and how those efforts continue to pay dividends today.
Attendees will leave with practical ideas and a renewed sense of shared responsibility to position restoration as a respected, rewarding, and exciting career path for the next generation.
